Cycling from hotel to hotel, with lead motorbikes, support cars, and ride captains, participants will get to experience what it’s like to be a professional cyclist; including luggage transfers to your hotel.
Each of the 4 group has its own ride captains, support vehicle and lead motorbike insuring riders’ safety at all times. It is also comforting to know that a seat as well as your day bag is only a short reach away, if ever you need anything or to take a break.
Our new hotel partners in 2018 will make it an even more memorable event, with 3 nights in 5* hotels, and 1 night in a boutique 4* plus.
The 2018 Lighthouse Tour will take place between the 20th and 25th of October, with the first day dedicated to arrivals, with offical “Registration”, bike fit, as well as a brief presentation of the few days ahead and welcome coktail taking place. This year, we’ve done a few changed, added new hotel partners and lunch locations, and included 1 day of cycling on the picturesque island of Menorca (Declared UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1993). Below you will see a provisional itinerary for each stages.
Sunday 21 October
This year we’ll depart from the other side of Palma, and make our way to the hill top Sanctuary of San Salvador for some panoramic views! We’ll then head towards Alcudia, passing through small villages and country roads.
Route: 98 km with 900 m of climbing.
Monday 22 October
This is the Lighthouse that inspired us to create the event, and you’ll quickly understand why. Its stunning views of the coast and rolling hills make it a special day on the saddle.
Route: 105 km with 1,600 m of climbing.
Tuesday 23 October
One unique day of cycling in Menorca, cycling through its picturesque white villages, along the coast and riding up a very steep climb – where you’ll get to see the whole island. (Return boat trip included)
Route: 128 km with 1,500 m of climbing.
Wednesday 24 October
Also one of the Lighthouse Tour favourite rides is the mighty Sa Calobra, which you will have the opportunity to tackle its 26 hair pins on this last day! You can also choose to opt out and enjoy a longer lunch break at the top of climb.
Route: 92 km with 2,400 m of climbing.
Due to popular demand we have created a “non-rider package”, so your non-cycling travel companion, can get to see some of the beautiful island of Mallorca and Menorca, and meet you for lunch. Families are also welcome, with all hotel partners being child friendly this year.
Package does not include: Drinks with evening meals, Flights, Travel insurance, Bike airport transfers or Bike hire.
Bike airport transfers or Bike hire can be arranged at additional cost.
